ABOUT US
Welding Improvement was founded in 1982, and since then we have built a long history and a reputation that our partners trust. Originally, the welding and fabrication division, now called WiFAB, offered a wide range of services to some of the largest companies in the railroad industry. In 2009, we expanded our fabrication shop, adding new automated equipment as well as CNC machines for improved fabrication. Our customer base expanded too, continuing to serve the railroad industry as well as several partners in steel mill production and recycling. Over the years, we have used better and newer equipment as well, such as a fiber laser cutter, to improve the quality that we offer to our customers.
THE START OF
WiCOM SERVICES
In 2012, Welding Improvement expanded once more, this time into the wireless and tower industries. Not only did we serve our partners through the fabrication shop, we also added a field services unit, marketed as WiCOM. This division performs field welding services, tower structural modifications, and telecommunication equipment installation services across the Midwest for some of the largest wireless companies and tower owners, such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Crown Castle, American Tower, and SBA. In addition, this type of laser cutting offers a cleaner, smoother cutting edge, and can be adapted to different wavelengths, ranges, and cutting speeds. It has much lower power and material consumption, resulting in lower production costs, and offers unrivaled precision and accuracy in metal fabrication.
Overall, thanks to our fiber laser cutter and our expertise in metal fabrication, WiFAB offers our customers more versatility in the shapes and materials we can cut. We also offer more competitive pricing, efficient and quality production, and quicker turnaround times.
WELDING IMPROVEMENT
TWO DIVISIONS, ONE COMPANY
In 2024, Welding Improvement rebranded the fabrication and welding division to WiFAB to better coincide with the branding for WiCOM. Together, WiFAB Services and WiCOM services are well equipped to help our customers in any industry. We take great pride in our products and services, believing that a reputation as an honest and reliable business is the recipe for success.
